IAVS Committee Position — Social Media Coordinator

• Maintains regular presence on Twitter (“X”) and Facebook

• • • New IAVS blogs, announcements, newsletters, member achievements, related events, etc.
    • Avoids material that duplicates the content of similar critical animal studies collectives (ie. no need for interesting news stories or cute animal videos)
    • All posts should be composed with full professionalism as consistent with IAVS guidelines

• Coordinates with Newsletter Editor, Blog Editor and IAVS Committee as needed
• Any recorded events are posted to the Vegan Sociology Youtube channel with appropriate descriptions and metadata
• Documents annual conference
  • Live “tweets” during talks, tagging speakers and utilizing a hashtag
  • Edit and post talks on Vegan Sociology Youtube channel with appropriate descriptions, thumbnails, and metadata, collated into a playlist (taking care that those who wish not to be recorded are not included)
• Option to expand into Instagram, TikTok, etc.
• Attends IAVS Committee meetings only as needed (maximum 4 per year)
