IAVS Committee Position — Social Media Coordinator
- Maintains regular presence on Twitter (“X”) and Facebook

- New IAVS blogs, announcements, newsletters, member achievements, related events, etc.
- Avoids material that duplicates the content of similar critical animal studies collectives (ie. no need for interesting news stories or cute animal videos)
- All posts should be composed with full professionalism as consistent with IAVS guidelines

- Coordinates with Newsletter Editor, Blog Editor and IAVS Committee as needed
- Any recorded events are posted to the Vegan Sociology Youtube channel with appropriate descriptions and metadata
- Documents annual conference
- Live “tweets” during talks, tagging speakers and utilizing a hashtag
- Edit and post talks on Vegan Sociology Youtube channel with appropriate descriptions, thumbnails, and metadata, collated into a playlist (taking care that those who wish not to be recorded are not included)
- Option to expand into Instagram, TikTok, etc.
- Attends IAVS Committee meetings only as needed (maximum 4 per year)
